Review: Sister of the Bride by Susan Mallery

Sister of the Bride by Susan Mallery
Series: Fool's Gold, #2.5
MIRA Books
August 2010
Format: e-book, 77 pages
Source: Personal copy

When Katie McCormick finds out that her sister is marrying her ex, she finally agrees to a setup for the big day. To her surprise, Jackson is a catch. But when wedding catastrophe ensues, will their sparks fizzle or ignite into flames?

My thoughts: This cute novella was a breeze to read. It's part of the Fool's Gold series, but doesn't include any of the characters we met so far.

It's bad enough that Katie's sister is marrying Katie's ex, but now her mom is insistent on setting her up with a date for the wedding. This so-called date is her mom's best friend's son - Jackson, who, last time Katie saw him, she wanted to beat up. Now, he's quite the catch and the sparks start flying the minute they run into each other.

As the weekend festivities start off, there are plenty of fires that Katie needs to put out - from her aunt hitting on any walking male to the groom thinking he might still be in love with Katie, to Katie's mom using alcohol to keep her nerves from fraying and then sharing too much information. It's a wonder that this wedding gets off and luckily she has Jackson to help her.

I really hope that this isn't the last time we see Katie or Jackson...I enjoyed their story and wish it was longer!
