#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in July 3

I finally started my training walks for the upcoming marathon. I started the week out strong with a nice 3+ mile walk, though, and then lost my motivation for a bit. I was super tired this week and think I might actually be coming down with a cold. But, I did at least move each day, so while I didn't get any other big walks in, I did do some indoor walks, which is better than nothing. Hopefully this cold doesn't turn into anything major and is gone in a few days.
Here's how my week went:

Jun 27:  5,636 steps
Jun 28:  6,510 steps
Jun 29:
3.85 miles fitness walk (just under an hour), 17,004 steps

Jun 30:  1 hour indoor walking, 13,457 steps
Jul  1:  2-15 minute fitness walks w/ dog, 7,867 steps

Jul  2:  1 hour indoor walking, 12,197 steps
Jul  3:  1 hour indoor walking, 12,150 steps
Audiobooks listened to this week :

  • Finished The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro, narrated by Xe Sands.
  • Started Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter, narrated by Edoardo Ballerini
How did your week go? You can find this week's link-up here.

  1. So the training begins... Are you using a set schedule for training? I ran a marathon many, many years ago, and I found the training schedule was harder than the race itself. Good luck and I'll be here to cheer you on!!

    1. I have a training plan that I am modifying to fit my schedule. I basically need it for the distance walks - to know when I should be increasing and then tapering off. This is the 1st full-marathon I've done, but I've done a few 1/2 marathons, so I get the basic premise behind the training schedule and you are right - the schedule is sometimes more grueling than the race itself!!!
