#1 New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods tests the strength of the beloved O'Briens and proves that love and family can always triumph!***Short & Sweet Reviews are short, quick reviews. These will mainly be used for series books where I have already done full reviews on some of the earlier books or for books that I feel will suffice with a quick review. These will not be used for review requests or blog tours.
When former pro football quarterback Aidan Mitchell comes to Chesapeake Shores to take a high school coaching job, he's embraced by the town—especially the O'Briens. But Aidan has a secret that could alter all their lives.
For wounded Liz March, who's trying for a fresh start after a devastating betrayal, taking a chance on Aidan may be more than she can handle. Her heart, however, refuses to listen to her head. But just when forever seems within reach, Aidan's secret threatens to change everything.
Does this tempting stranger who's made her feel alive have the power to convince her to look beyond the past and reach for the future?
My thoughts: I just love this series - it's a fun, no-pressure, easy read/listen, leave your worries behind kind of series that you know will end with the guy getting the girl and having their HEA in some fashion and every once in a while, it's nice to have a read like that. What's different with each book are the characters involved in the romance and their journey to that HEA.
Of course, my favorite part of this series is the fact that the O'Brien clan is always involved and while this particular story involves two outsiders, that doesn't keep those noisy, boisterous, match-making O'Briens from getting mixed up with Aidan and Liz, whether they want them to or not. Both have secrets they are hiding but as secrets are known to do, they don't stay buried for long. When they are finally revealed, how will these secrets impact Aidan and Liz's relationship?
This is such a great series and I'm so glad Sherryl Wood has decided to continue writing it. I'm not sure how much longer it will continue for, but I am in for the long haul!
Audio thoughts: I'm so glad Christina Traister narrated this...I only just started listening to this series with the last book and really enjoyed her narration of that book. She does a great job with the voices and just makes the story come to life. I hope she continues to narrate this series.
