Summary:
The feel-good #1 bestselling French novel about a woman whose mission to cure her "routine-itis" leads her to lasting joy and true fulfillment, for fans of The Alchemist and Hector and the Search for Happiness

At thirty-eight and a quarter years old, Paris native Camille has everything she needs to be happy, or so it seems: a good job, a loving husband, a wonderful son. Why then does she feel as if happiness has slipped through her fingers? All she wants is to find the path to joy.

When Claude, a French Sean Connery look-alike and routinologist, offers his unique advice to help get her there, she seizes the opportunity with both hands. Camille's journey is full of surprising escapades, creative capers, and deep meaning, as she sets out to transform her life and realize her dreams one step at a time . . .

A charming, feel-good, and universal story of one woman's journey from boredom and dissatisfaction to happiness and fulfilment--for fans of Hector and The Search for Happiness, The Little Paris Bookshop, and Eat, Pray, Love.

My thoughts: Sometimes you just pick up a book at the right time and this was that book for me. I had been reading another book that needed total focus and concentration and I just wasn't in the right head-space for it, and so I put that one down and picked this one up...and it was the perfect book for me at that time.

I'm not really one for self-help books, but I found that this book reads like a fun, whimsical novel this is chock-full of little tidbits of practical advice for living your best, happy life. It all centers around the idea that negativity in our life is not productive and we follow Camille on a journey as she discovers how to undo this in her life and become a happier person. And what a journey it was! The book is full of inspiration and motivation and it is certainly one I plan on keeping on my shelf to remind me of this when I feel discouraged and down by life.

I definitely needed this book when I picked it up...isn't is funny how a book can find us like that? This book was a light, charming book yet it resonated with me on so many levels and is definitely a keeper!

  1. This sounds great! I love that the advice is centered in a story, too. It's much easier to take in that way, I think. Great review!
