Teaser Tuesdays (7.27.10)

MizB of Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesday. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here's a tease of what I am currently reading:

Bernard himself seemed unfazed by these setbacks. He'd begun the grand work of his life: to spread the knowledge of yoga in his native land, organizing devotees and initiates into an ambitious national network of lodges.
From The Great Oom: The Improbable Birth of Yoga in America by Robert Love, pg. 34

Please leave a comment with a link to your teaser so I can stop by.

  1. Is that a nonfiction book?
My Teaser today is from a fiction book set in Ancient China, which reads like fairy tale fantasy.
Also, I have a contest on to help me name my blog! FREE Giveaways/Prizes to the winner

  2. Sounds like some heavy reading.

  3. Interesting teaser but I love the photos on the book cover.

  4. Interesting! I've never thought about how yoga came to America. My teaser is from Beautiful Malice by Rebecca James. Happy reading!

  5. I bet that's a really informative book. Nice teaser. Mine are at The Crowded Leaf.

  6. I get the feeling there is more to yoga than I thought. It's an educational teaser.

  7. I love the book cover! That is non fiction right ..?

  8. I've always thought yoga was interesting but I've never tried it before. This sounds like a great book to give as part of a yoga-themed gift basket though!

    Here's mine

  9. That cover is great with those vintage photos. Looking forward to your review of this one. I've been practicing yoga for years now so this might be something fun to read.

  10. It's not a book I think I'd chose to read but I'm intrigued by the teaser.

Mine's from Devil to Pay, a book I wrote.

  11. I love the pictures on the cover. Interesting subject and teaser.

Thank you so much for leaving a comment! I love interacting with other book lovers and appreciate any thoughts or feedback! If you read a book after seeing my review, please let me know. Come back and leave me a link to your review so I can read it. Thank you!!!
