The Sunday Post #48 (11.23.14)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. I'm also going to link this up with Sheila's It's Monday post over at Book Journey

So if you remember in last week's post, I mentioned that my sister-in-law was due to have her baby this past week...well, she did!!! She had a little girl - Ingrid Evangeline and that makes niece #11 for me! We are heading up to see them for Thanksgiving and I can't wait to get some snuggle-time in with her...there's nothing better than that new-baby smell!

I managed to get back down to see my sister and baby Nora (niece #10) yesterday and give her her new blanket that I made this past week - luckily these blankets only take a few days to make! Now I just have to finish up Ingrid's blanket and then I can get back to finishing up the scarves I am making as Christmas presents for some of my other nieces.

Baby Nora, Me and Abbie. (And the Blanket I made Nora)
Have a great week everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to all in the U.S.!!!

  1. Oh My goodness 11 nieces. Congrats on the new addiction to the family. New Baby smell is the best smell. I sniffed my kids often :)

Have a great weeks and Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    1. Thank you...yes 11 nieces and another on the way in Feb, plus 6 nephews! I come from a big family - I'm the oldest of 7, so it seems someone is always having a baby! :)

      Have Thanksgiving to you, too!

  2. Oh, congrats on the new niece! I wish I had more granddaughters...(only two!), with five grandsons, and I had only one daughter, with three sons. A plethora of males...LOL.

The Look of Love is on my wish list...hope to get it soon! I keep waffling about You. Maybe I'll head over and download it! Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    1. And on my family on the family, it seems this new generation is all girls - there are 10 girls and only 3 boys!

I'm really enjoying The Look of Love - it's my first Sarah Jio book! I heard great things about You and when I saw it was only $2.99 I couldn't resist. Don't know when I'll get to it, but at least I have it now.

  3. Wow! 11 nieces! My sister-in-law made a blanket like the one you make for the Tornado was born and I loved it. I could put it on him to keep him warm but since it had holes I didn't have to worry about it going over his face.
I'm looking forward to the reviews you've got coming up this week - especially the Jio and the Reichl. Have a great week!

    1. Yes, that's the one thing everyone seems to love about these blankets - the holes! :)

The Jio book is really good so far - hoping to finish it today! The Reichl book was excellent!

  4. What a sweetie. Congratulations on your newest niece.
I miss crafting. I really need to get back into it. All of my blankets are old and have fallen apart. I need some new ones.
I like your holiday reads. I'm reading a couple now.
Have a wonderful time with Ingrid.
    Here's my Sunday Post -

    1. Thank you! I love crocheting - so easy and I can do it while catching up on my tv shows or while listening to audio books!

  5. Oh the blanket you made is beautiful as is Nora! So wonderful you to spend time with them. Have a lovely week Kristin!

    1. Thank you! Luckily my sister only lives about an hour and a half away - it makes for quick day trips!

  6. Oh congrats on being an aunty again. I love the blanket as well.

I've actually only got the one niece (or nephew) and no kids. My poor mum only has the one grandchild!!!

    1. Thank you! My husband and I don't have kids either, so we love spending time with all our nieces and nephews!

  7. Congratulations. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving

  8. The blankets remind me of the crocheting I once did. Nice and cosy for the young ones! Lots of good books here again. Have been tempted myself to read House Broken myself and might just too.

    1. Yes - they are the perfect size for the stroller or car seat! I couldn't resist with House Broken as I have 2 chocolate labs!

  9. You are lucky to have all those babies in your family. We have no prospects these days. it's now all our nieces and nephews marrying and babies aren't in the plans yet....bummer!

    1. Not having kids myself, I live for my nieces and nephews! I spent a fair amount of time with as many of them as I can, though some are closer geographically than others.

  10. Congratulations! Girls are so much fun. Looking forward to your thoughts on The Look of Love. Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. Thank you, and yes, girls are definitely loads of fun! I'm loving The Look of Love - it's my first Sarah Jio book! Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

  11. Oh that new-baby smell! I love it! Your nieces are so adorable and making blankets for them is sweet! ♥ Have a great week ahead ♥

    1. Thank you!!! I love making the blankets and they seem to love them, too, so it's a win-win!

  12. What a great week for you.

Adorable photos of you nieces. Beautiful blanket.

    ENJOY this week.
